My daughter Kathy is a bright child. Due to a divorce in our family, she has struggled to succeed in her studies. Her teacher and the staff have demonstrated daily a sincere commitment to her. Without The Charter School of San Diego I would have failed the 9th grade. This school allows me to get the one-to-one attention I need to stay focused on my courses. I can be more productive. In a regular school, I used to get lost, and was embarrassed to ask questions. I didn't want to go to school. Three and a half years ago, the police brought our granddaughter, Samantha, to live with us. Her father had died and her mother had simply lost her way. The Charter School of San Diego has been so influential in my life. I have had several personal problems that have been hard on me over the past few years. I have already been "wowed" by the changes I have seen in my daughter since coming to charter school. My daughter had gotten bored in the regular setting classroom, and felt that she was being deprived of any challenge by classmates who were disruptive in the classroom and teachers who had no control over the classroom. The CSSD teachers were the greatest thing that could have happened when they came into my child's life. We had so much trouble at other schools - my child was challenged with medical problems that the traditional school system could not understand and I had to search for a school that would accommodate her needs. After meeting with my daughter's new teachers at CSSD, we both felt that angels had finally entered our lives...
