Admissions Information
It is The Charter School's practice to keep an open enrollment in accordance with its governance document. Open enrollment for students in grades 7-12 is city-wide. Waiting lists are maintained. The Charter School is a school of choice. No student is ever required to enroll in this school.

The purpose of the program is to address the needs of students requiring, or those who wish, an educational option. This may include students characterized by truancy, academic failure, and/or credit deficiency. State law for the independent study mode of delivery requires that independent study should be the most appropriate mode of instruction and that students have the capacity to work with textbooks and materials successfully in English (e.g., fourth or fifth grade level and above).

There are no specific enrollment dates. Students may enroll at any time. Students arriving in the middle of a term may receive credit for passing work at their previous school, and will be able to complete most classes at CSSD.

Students should remain enrolled and active in their current school until they meet with their CSSD teacher. (Note: An appointment for orientation/testing does not signify official enrollment.)
